Its foam core now features an innovative grid-like structure , specially designed to improve the mattress’s breathability. Numerous 1 cm-wide channels run through the foam, creating spaces for air to circulate within the mattress.
This design helps wick away moisture and limit heat build-up , ensuring a more comfortable sleep in all seasons.
With a density of 25 kg/m³, the foam offers a balance between firmness and comfort, tailored to the needs of babies during their early years.
Available in 60x120 cm and 70x140 cm, the Aloé R mattress fits standard cot sizes.
A carefully considered composition
All the polyester fibres used in the mattress have been replaced with recycled polyester fibres.
Waste reduction: The use of recycled polyester helps to reuse existing materials, thereby limiting the use of new resources. Resource conservation: Recycled polyester is made from PET plastic bottles, textile waste or other existing sources of polyester. Lower energy consumption: The production of recycled polyester requires 30 to 60 per cent less energy than that of virgin polyester, as it avoids certain stages of crude oil processing. Towards a circular economy: The use of recycled polyester encourages the reuse of existing materials and reduces the need for new materials. Polyester has properties that limit the spread of fire, which means chemical treatments do not need to be added. Furthermore, this baby mattress with a foam core is covered with a soft and comfortable cover made from TENCEL™ Lyocell and polyester. TENCEL™ Lyocell is a man-made fibre produced from wood pulp. It provides a comfortable sleeping surface thanks to its breathable properties, which help regulate temperature.
Finally, the Aloe Vera coating on the cover adds softness and comfort to the mattress.
It is shipped rolled and vacuum-packed to optimise space during transit (50% space-saving). We recommend that you fully unpack the mattress upon receipt and do not leave it vacuum-packed for too long (maximum 30 days).
Sizes suitable for cot beds (60x120cm or 70x140cm)
The two standard sizes for cot beds are 60x120 cm and 70x140 cm. These are available to meet parents’ needs and preferences, as well as to accommodate the child’s changing needs.
60x120 cm: This size is often considered the standard size for cot beds. It is ideal for smaller bedrooms or for parents with limited space. This cot is generally used from birth and can be used until the child is around 2–3 years old, or even a little longer depending on the child’s growth. 70 x 140 cm: This cot size is slightly larger, offering more space for the baby. This size allows the bed to be used for a longer period. It can be used from birth and can often be converted into a junior bed using removable side rails, thereby extending its use until the child is older (4–5 years or even older). The choice between these two sizes often depends on the size of the room, the parents’ preferences in terms of design and functionality, and how long they plan to use the cot.
However, the quality of the mattress remains the same regardless of size.
Reassuring certifications and standards for a mattress free from added chemical anti-mite, anti-bacterial and fire-retardant treatments
The NF EN 16890 standard, issued in April 2018, applies to baby mattresses and sets out safety and quality criteria, among other things. We therefore outline this standard in a few key points:
Purpose of the standard: The NF EN 16890 standard sets out safety, performance and composition requirements for mattresses intended for babies and young children, thereby ensuring their compliance with European safety standards. Safety criteria: It specifies strict criteria regarding firmness, the risk of entrapment or suffocation, the durability of materials, resistance to deformation, flammability and other aspects relating to the safety of baby mattresses. Control of harmful substances: The standard also includes regulations on the presence of harmful substances such as heavy metals, flame-retardant treatments, etc., to ensure that the mattress poses no risk to the child’s health. Furthermore, the Aloé R baby mattress is fully OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified. This certification means the product has been tested and proven to comply with strict safety and quality requirements, including checks for harmful substances such as pesticides, heavy metals, allergenic dyes, regulated chemicals and other hazardous substances, as specified by Standard 100—one of the most widely used OEKO-TEX® certifications.
The OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification confirms that the product meets criteria limiting the use of certain harmful chemicals.
A mattress with a fully removable cover – incredibly practical!
Our Aloé R baby mattress features a fully removable cover—offering many advantages, especially for parents!
Easy to clean: A mattress with a removable cover allows parents to take the cover off and wash it more easily in the event of accidents, spit-up or any other mishaps. This makes it easier to keep the mattress clean and hygienic. The cover can simply be machine-washed at a maximum of 30 degrees with a spin cycle of 500 rpm. However, it is not at all recommended to put the cover in the tumble dryer; instead, let it air dry. Durability: The removable cover makes it easy to look after the mattress and preserve its quality over time. By washing the cover regularly, you can prevent the build-up of dirt, dust mites and bacteria that might otherwise affect the quality of the mattress. However, the mattress cover does not prevent you from using and protecting your mattress with a waterproof mattress protector and a fitted sheet suitable for a mattress measuring 60x120 cm or 70x140 cm.
