Turia cot 60x120 cm
Description
A cot suitable from birth up to around 3 years of age A cot is generally suitable for babies and toddlers up to around 2 to 3 years old, depending on the child’s growth and sleeping needs.
As the child grows, they may become too big or too active for the cot, and it may be time to move them to a toddler bed or a standard-sized bed. Some children may be ready to move to a larger bed before the age of 2 or 3, whilst others may need to stay in a cot for a little longer.
It is essential to monitor the child’s developmental signs and maturity to determine whether it is time to move to a larger bed.
Cot beds must comply with certain safety standards to ensure the protection and well-being of babies and toddlers. These standards vary from country to country, but here are the criteria against which our Turia 60x120cm cot has been tested:
- Spacing between bars : The spacing between the bars of the cot must comply with safety standards (between 4.5 and 6.5 cm). Generally speaking, the spacing must be narrow enough to prevent a baby’s head from slipping through, of course, and wide enough to allow for good air circulation.
- Non-toxic materials : The materials used to manufacture the cot must be safe for babies. They must comply with current regulations regarding the absence of toxic substances, lead, phthalates or other harmful chemicals.
- Stability and sturdiness : The cot must be stable and sturdy to prevent any risk of tipping or overturning when a child moves around or stands up inside it.
- No protruding or sharp parts: The edges and parts of the cot must not have any sharp edges or protruding parts that could injure the child.
- Clear assembly instructions : The bed must come with clear and detailed instructions for correct assembly (included in the box on delivery)
Easy 3-position adjustment of the base Our 60x120cm Turia cot is designed to adapt to your child’s growth and changing needs during their first few months of life. Here’s a general guide to when you might consider adjusting the height of the mattress base in the Turia cot:
- High position : The highest mattress position is used from birth and during the first few months, when the baby is very small. This position is usually used until the baby starts rolling over on their own or pushing themselves up on their arms – signs that it might be time to lower the mattress. This height is convenient for parents, as it allows them to put the baby down and pick them up easily without having to bend over too far.
- Medium position: Once the baby starts to become more active and energetic, rolling over or trying to stand up, it is recommended to lower the mattress to this medium position to avoid any risk of falling when the baby is able to sit up or pull themselves up by holding onto the cot bars.
- Low position: When the baby becomes more mobile, starts to stand up on their own or reaches a height where they might try to climb out of the cot, it is time to set the mattress to the lowest position to ensure their safety. This will prevent the baby from climbing over the side of the cot.
These guidelines are general and may vary depending on each child’s specific development. It is essential to monitor your baby’s developmental milestones closely to know when to adjust the mattress height. Make sure the cot is always secure and that your baby cannot fall out or hurt themselves by adjusting the mattress height accordingly.

The natural strength of FSC-certified solid beech Made from FSC®-certified solid beech, the Turia cot offers excellent durability over time. Solid wood is not only sturdy, but it also adds a warm touch to your child’s bedroom. As the name suggests, solid wood is made from whole pieces of timber, giving it greater strength and durability compared to composite wood, chipboard or plywood.
Beech is a timber species renowned for its robustness and stability, making it particularly well-suited to the manufacture of children’s furniture. Thanks to its high-quality construction, this bed can be passed down through several generations of children whilst retaining its aesthetic appeal.
Woods such as oak, beech, ash and walnut are often considered particularly durable, whilst less dense or softer woods may be more prone to damage. Your baby’s safety is a top priority, which is why this cot is fitted with sturdy safety bars. The three positions of the cot base ensure safety as your child grows, whilst also making it easier and more comfortable to put them to bed.
Although solid wood cots may initially be more expensive than other types of cot, their long-term durability can make them a wise investment. They can stand the test of time and remain both functional and attractive for many years.
Solid wood can also be sanded down, repainted or repaired to extend its lifespan.
FSC® certification guarantees that the wood used comes from responsibly managed forests, with respect for the environment and natural resources.
A natural finish with no added varnish Because little ones explore their surroundings with their hands… and often with their mouths, the Turia cot features a natural finish without varnish.
This design preserves the wood’s authentic appearance whilst minimising your baby’s exposure to unnecessary chemicals. The wood thus retains its natural feel and original beauty, creating a bedroom that’s better for your child’s wellbeing.
