Made from PEFC-certified solid pine, this slatted base complies with environmental standards while ensuring exceptional solidity.
In practical terms, buying PEFC-certified furniture means you can be sure that :
The wood comes from forests where care is taken to ensure natural regeneration, the preservation of species and the protection of soil and water. The trees are harvested in a controlled way and new trees are replanted to ensure the sustainability of the resource. The entire processing chain complies with strict traceability and transparency criteria. Social and safety conditions for workers are also taken into account. The PEFC label guarantees that the wood used comes from sustainably managed forests and a controlled supply chain.
Manufacturing a slatted bed base in France has many advantages:
Reduced transport emissions: A slatted bed base made in France travels an average of 916 km by lorry before reaching the customer, compared with 1600 km by lorry and 2000 km by boat for imported furniture. This halves the carbon footprint associated with distribution compared to an imported product, significantly reducing transport-related CO2 emissions.
Controlled production and ecological certifications: French workshops are subject to strict environmental standards (NF Environnement, PEFC) which control water and energy consumption, waste management, the use of toxic substances and encourage recycling. This limits the environmental impact of production, unlike in some exporting countries where regulations may be less stringent.
Support for the circular economy and recycling: The French furniture industry is structured around recycling, with more than 8,000 collection points for end-of-life furniture. Recycled wood already represents 35% of the raw material for the wood panels used in manufacturing, which limits the extraction of new resources and further reduces the carbon footprint.
Local production, local jobs: Manufacturing in France supports the local economy, limits transport, and guarantees ethical working conditions governed by French labour law.
It is suitable for all types of mattress and can support up to 125 kg for a single bed and 250 kg for a double bed. It has a central reinforcement bar for added stability.
Easy to assemble thanks to its kit format, this slatted base is also designed to last, with sturdy slats and easy maintenance: simply wipe clean with a damp sponge.
